Negotiation

Negotiated solutions preserve relationships, are more productive and much less damaging than formal dispute resolution and they provide the flexibility to manage situations such that all parties feel empowered when a solution is achieved. Successful negotiation is a force multiplier. It builds relationships and strengthens trust for future working.

The majority of our services are geared towards negotiation. Our most successful clients recognise that negotiation is the best way forward. Mediation which is nothing other than assisted negotiation, has seen an exponential growth in recent years, which it is nothing other than assisted negotiation. Many of our clients are sophisticated operators in their industries and so are perfectly capable of negotiating without the assistance of a mediator. What they do need however is a clear articulation of their position to assist in such negotiations. That’s where we come in.

We provide an initial overview, develop that into detailed submissions if required, articulate the position and then distill it into a format that assists whatever forum is being used for the purposes of resolving the issues. Very often a large and complex dispute will be discussed at group board level between corresponding senior personnel. Briefing notes distilling the issues into easily understood items for discussion are key to our service in this area.

We have been personally involved in both advising and representing our clients at the highest levels of such negotiations having over 25 years of experience in such matters.
